Run2Cure Local offers participants convenience and flexibility to run or walk for Neuroblastoma Australia in their own time. Support research into the childhood cancer neuroblastoma - from wherever you are!

1. Choose your distance, 21.1k, 10k, 5k, 3k or 1k and register today.

2. Choose your location - this can be anywhere! Hit the beach or park or see how many neighbourhood streets you can cover for your designated distance.*

3. Work out a date in September.

4. Go alone, invite a buddy or get a group together.*

5. Connect with the Run2Cure Local Strava Club for your time to be recognised (more details below).

6. Get in the spirit by wearing a race bib or dressing up for childhood cancer awareness month with some gold!**

*Please adhere to all covid rules in your area regarding exercising with others, radius from your home and mask wearing.

Do I receive a race bib for Run2Cure Local?

Printed vinyl race bibs were mailed out to those registered by 9th August due to print and postal lead times. Otherwise, you will need to download and customise your own race bib.

Will my time for Run2Cure Local be recorded?

Do you want your virtual event time recorded?

If so, you'll need to join our Run2Cure Local 2021 Strava Club. We want everyone to be recognised for their hard work, training and results, so be sure to join prior to setting off on your virtual run or walk.

We will be creating leaderboards for each event distance for those that have joined, so create a Strava account and join our club to partake in the fun.

*Run2Cure Local event leaderboards will be created separately from the standard weekly Strava leaderboards.

Quick tips:

  • Create your free Strava account now if you don't have one already (join Strava on your computer or download the free app on your smart phone)
  • Join the Run2Cure Local 2021 Strava Club prior to running or walking your event
  • Complete your virtual event between September 1 and 30
  • Label your event appropriately (i.e. Run2Cure Local 10k)
  • NOTE we will be using total elapsed time of your activity for leaderboards

  • Login to your Strava account on your preferred device
  • Select Explore…. Clubs
  • Search for Run2Cure Local 2021 Strava Club & select join!
Can I still run the same distances in Run2Cure Local as I would in the Domain?

You can still choose to run, walk or jog from the same distances as our annual fun run in the Domain (1k, 3k, 5k, 10k or Half Marathon), HOWEVER you get to choose anytime between 1 September through 30 September, anywhere you are in the world.

Do I need to enter a discount code for early bird pricing?

No. All early bird pricing is already built into the ticket pricing. You do not need to enter any sort of discount code.

Are there training programs to follow for Run2Cure?

Yes! We have training programs available for the 5k, 10k and half marathon, all developed by our Athletics Australia accredited event run coach. Join our Run2Cure Club for free to receive the plan best suited to your distance and experience level.

How much money raised by Run2Cure Local will go towards research?

Our aim is for approximately 80% of the funds raised through Run2Cure Local to go towards research projects into kinder, better and more effective treatments for the children's cancer neuroblastoma.

The remaining funds go towards running the virtual event and the charity Neuroblastoma Australia. Our annual report is available here if you'd like more information about where funding goes.

Will I still receive fundraising prizes for Run2Cure Local?

Yes, visit our Fundraise page to see the rewards for fundraising. We will post your prizes to Australian addresses free of charge.

If you would prefer to donate your prizes back to the charity to use in future fundraising events, please email us info@run2cure.org.au

What if I don't want to accept fundraising prizes?

We offer prizes in recognition of the work involved with fundraising however we understand that some of our generous supporters would prefer not to receive these prizes.

This year we will offer everyone the choice, so if you want, you can choose to donate what you've earned back to the charity to help with future fundraisers. Just email us on info@run2cure.org.au if you would prefer not to receive a prize.

Will I still get a participation medal for Run2Cure Local?

You can still earn a medal to commemorate your participation. Medals can be ordered in advance at the time of your registration.
