Bronya Sergi of Team Penny sets $37,000 individual fundraising record
Thank you to everyone who supported Run2Cure 2018. It was an amazing day with over $300,000 raised. A big thanks to those who worked so hard to raise funds for neuroblastoma research by fundraising – there were lots of new records set. The amount of funds raised made a huge difference to what research the charity could support – thank you!
The highest individual fundraiser was Bronya Sergi ($37k) of Team Penny,
Bronya's daughter, Penelope (Penny) was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was 10 months old. When Penny was first diagnosed, Bronya had no idea what "neuroblastoma" was. Penny is a happy carefree child and never showed any signs of being unwell. Her neuroblastoma was found by accident with an unrelated chest X-ray. Since then, Penny has endured more operations and procedures than most adults I know. She has had central lines put into her chest, ports, biopsies, drains, operations, daily injections just to name a few. Bronya and Team Penny will be coming along to Run2Cure 2019 to raise even more funds and awareness for neuroblastoma. Thank you for your ongoing support, Bronya!
